Only a small number of young people are prescribed puberty blockers. Those who are often describe them as life-saving. I know the distress the puberty blockers ban is causing them. No matter what happens in court, I will continue fighting for the government to scrap it.

Trans people need to be able to exist safely as themselves with respect & dignity, and with equal access to adequately funded healthcare. I support & stand in solidarity with the trans community —including young trans people — for whom puberty blockers are a life-saving measure.

We must support people with gender dysphoria, not make their life harder to cope with. We need careful, considered clinical provision for our trans community. My statement on puberty blockers comes after much discussion with MPs, constituents & groups over last 2 days.

This is a situation you know nothing about and no one has briefed you on. You are inflaming a situation with misinformation. Politicians have a responsibility to not exacerbate situations particularly with no knowledge of them. I expect you to issue an apology.
