Thao says she’s working with the federal aviation administration to see if Oakland police can obtain and use bigger drones.

Thao’s pitch to this group of Montclair residents is that Oakland can eventually pay for more cops, better tech, other safety programs by stimulating economic development with new sports teams like the Ballers, Roots playing at the Coliseum and the Coliseum development.
