JK Students @LS_STEAM_GWACHI learned about plants being a habitat for insects! We also learned that some insects eat parts of their plant habitat. Students observed hornworms and created simple sketches.

G3 inquired about the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius & the archaeological remains of Pompeii, Italy. Students pressed and removed objects into clay leaving behind only a negative space impression, similar to human forms in Pompeii. #IBeducation #unitofinquiry #GWA

Preschool explored inclined planes through the lens of “Notice, Wonder, Discover.” They noticed the incline of the ramps and wondered how far objects would roll. They conducted experiments to discover how different variables influenced the outcome! #ChicagoPrivateSchools #IBPYP

Grade 1 concluded their Biodiversity UOI by creating ecosystem dioramas. Students researched an ecosystem and designed biotic and abiotic elements that are essential components of the habitat. They described how food chains transfer energy throughout the ecosystem. #IBPYP
