🚂 WEEK-END UPDATE: Palisades Tunnel Project🚧 Work to prepare the entry point for the TBMs continues! The team has finished soil sampling, site clearing, and geotechnical boring at the Tonnelle Ave. site, and soldier pile installation is now in progress.

🏗️WEEK-END UPDATE: HRGS🌊 We’re making steady progress on the Hudson River Ground Stabilization Project! The team removed obstructions in the current work area and is now mixing concrete into the soil in columns and wedges. So far, 250 columns and 6 wedges are installed.

Mechanical issues happen, but they wouldn’t impact commutes if we had more than two tracks going into and out of New York. Delays like this show why we need to build a new tunnel and rehab the existing North River Tunnel. The HTP will do just that.

🚉 WEEK-END UPDATE: Manhattan Tunnel Project🏙️ Work has started on the MTP! Investigatory geotechnical boring is in progress to understand the exact makeup of the fill that the team will tunnel through and identify obstructions that will need to be removed or navigated around.

Today Congressman Tom Kean joined the GDC crew for an up-close look at deep soil mixing, which will create the right conditions for our tunnel boring machines to dig beneath the Hudson River. Work on New Jersey's reliable new rail tunnel is moving full steam ahead!

🚉WEEK-END UPDATE: TONNELLE AVE🛤️ The gateway to Gateway is coming together! Stage 2 of the Tonnelle Ave. Project is nearly complete. Soon traffic will shift to the middle section of the bridge, setting the team up to finish the final portion of this project.

A Monday delay is a headache no commuter wants to face, but as long as we rely on the 115-year-old North River Tunnel, delays will continue to happen – on Mondays and every other day. This is why the Hudson Tunnel Project is more important with each passing day.

🚂WEEK-END UPDATE: Palisades Tunnel Project🚧 The Hudson County Shaft is starting to take shape! This shaft will be used to switch the tunnel boring machines that dig through the Palisades with machines that are optimized for digging through the soft silt under the Hudson River.
