This week the children in Reception have been learning all about King Charles and finding out about the coronation. They made a pair of thrones with some of his favourite things added to the design. We hope he likes them! The Royal Family

Making a giant spider web in the garden, we know what spiders eat, how they catch their prey, what they do to make them sleep and how a spider knows if there is a fly in the web. Ask us about spinnerets and how many eyes a spider has! @CLOtC

Oh my goodness, we found an ENORMOUS bone in Forest School, ask us which dinosaur we think it came from! We also found a massive egg, so we made nests from different materials to welcome the dinosaur.

Nessie has been to visit our classroom! We’ve sent her a postcard to ask her questions and used our watercolour skills to paint Loch Ness, and then draw Nessie for the picture side of our postcard! Do you think she’ll answer our questions? ReadingRocks

We found a boat! We’re off to sail the seven seas! I wonder if we’ll find treasure!

We have been practicing counting carefully. Today our skills were put to the test when the Three Little Pigs invited their friends over for tea and we weren’t sure how many cups we would need. We talked to our friends about the best way to find out how many. @MaxTheMaths

We are loving exploring outside, and discovering things to make patterns with. This week we are really enjoying the story of ‘Stickman’ by Julia Donaldson - we made our own Stickman!

Using our collection of pumpkins 🎃 to talk about ‘heavy’ and ‘not heavy’ and to order them according to size. We named them ‘Big Boo’ , ‘Boo’ and ‘Baby Boo’ @MaxTheMaths

Reception have been learning all about primary colours and how we can mix them to make other colours. We also rescued some bears and sorted them into the primary colours.

Roll up, roll up, it’s Circus Day! Today we are celebrating all the skills we have, and learning new skills! Thank you to all our grown ups at home for making us look AMAZING!
