We did notice - our team (Acocks Green Village in Bloom) created and maintain the 'Triabout' - the area which is a triangular traffic island at the entrance to Birmingham from Olton Solihull - tulips are going over but the buttercups have shown us their beauty - in numbers

What a day - Saturday our Springtime Festival in Acocks Green - Thanks to our popular band Accoustica, bee keeper Mandy, Facepainter Yuko and lots of stalls. Thanks to our team for what they do best - making Acocks Green a pleasant place to be

Our judging day for Britain in Bloom is Thursday 6th July with the judges walking the village going across Oxford Road. There is also a B & M bin on the corner of Mallard Close which is overflowing and not supposed to be there - I won't mention grass mowing!

It is no matter what education you receive, or A levels, or university degree - all that matters is what you make of your life afterwards.

I will definitely let the artists know. Thanks for your comments and what an impact this artwork has made. Shopping centres need all the help they can get so we like to think we have helped this - and your endorsement is just wonderful

This definitely looks wildlife friendly. However, Birmingham City Council is still spraying. I think that is definitely the first thing they should stop - not just for nature but because there are no funds to pay for it!

In many places, there is no watering regime put in place after the trees have been planted. It just appears to be a 'green gesture' social activity with no care of what happens afterwards

Last year this event was magical. The music reflected Christmas through many hundreds of years bringing us up to mid 50s with the song which included 'Chestnuts Roasting..' Join us with mulled wine and mince pies plus candles all round at St Mary's Warwick Road Acocks Green

Not content to just garden, attend social events, remove litter and graffiti, our attention turned to the front of Acocks Green library. We obtained pavers and asked JW Services if they would do the job of laying them. It now has perfect symmetry and looks wonderful.

I have noticed more cars knocking down walls - two at the meeting with Shirley Road and Hazelwood and some of our planters knocked sideways despite their weight - one planter knocked from one side of a drive to another. I feel that the driving test should be made more difficult.

Nature is amazing - I have sarcococca by my front door and the scent is wonderful. Clematis cirrhosa 'freckles' is also showing her pretty face

The scouts have put lot of effort into this. What consisted of weedy borders now looks good throughout the year. It is a pleasure to see. The daffodils are now starting to come through. Clever planting with drought tolerant perennials and spreading plants to combat the weeds

As we enter Britain in Bloom, we have used some of the funding to celebrate their 60 year anniversary holding a 'Bloomin' Good Night' at a local social club

A trombone concert organised by the Friends of Acocks Green Library. This is a fundraiser for those extra items which the library needs. This week a census is being taken of the number of people visiting the library -get down there - your footfall may help to keep it open.

Saturday 4th May. The event that inspires the residents to visit Acocks Green village and see the bees, buy honey, have your face painted and buy flower and veg plants - also see the many stallholders with crafts - one will even paint your portrait! Band Acoustica is with us.

Our festival of the year reminder for Saturday 4th May - Band Acoustica will background a beekeeper, seed sowing, face painting and lots of stalls. We would not have bloom in our title if we did not sell lots of plants - vegetable and flowers - see our tulips as well

They look marvellous - I shall be popping round to collect them soon. Thank you all for putting the effort into entering our competition. Also it makes people feel good about our village - Fran

This is good for our team to see. This year, we have noticed more problems on the high street, not to mention the graffiti. Hopefully these people will help to deter this and make our 'village' a good place to be. The shopkeepers will be pleased!
