Unpopular* opinion: I really really like Stanford in C. Sang evensong with Jesus College Choir this eve and honestly it has cheered me up SO much. Some lovely alto bits and a classic Tenor Moment. Yay. * with singers. The rest of you won’t have a clue what I’m talking about

Start your day the right way with Byrd 3-part mass, Clemens non Papa’s Ego Flos Campi & Clare Wilkinson 💙 Robert Hollingworth Nicholas Mulroy all saying insightful things about polyphony (and how lovely it is to sing with others). shows.acast.com/choral-chihuah…

Well this sounds utterly & completely splendid Harriet Evans not really on here now sorry, where do I sign up? (Such fond memories of that episode of Backlisted Podcast in which you described attending a party as Harriet Vane.) HURRAH

Every now and again I get to do something that the pre-working-in-books me would have KILLED for (reference absolutely intended) and this is one of them. Early news of Kate Atkinson’s new Jackson Brodie? YES PLEASE. Thank you to the moon & back Alison Barrow 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Me: there literally isn’t enough cupboard space for all the mugs we own already, someone needs to start breaking them strategically Also me: but look at Jon McNaught’s CUTE LITTLE London Review of Books BISCUITS ok maybe just one more it can live permanently on the table right?

woe! woe! been waiting anxiously for the Vanderlyle Restaurant email announcing the superlative cashew parfait jars & OF COURSE it arrived when I was between station & desk & OF COURSE it had sold out by the time I opened my email. woe and thrice woe.
