When did messenger apps forget how to count? Slack just told me that there's 25+ unread messages in a channel and it turned out to be more than 260. Sure, 25+ is technically correct, but what's the point of an estimation if it's off by an order of magnitude?

I've written a blog post about the tree structure of file systems and how it's different from a simple tree data structure you'd implement in you favorite programming language. Check it out! fkohlgrueber.github.io/blog/tree-stru…

Why are we talking about autonomous cars so much when autonomous train systems could be sooo cool? That's the future I want to live in! Concept by @DLR_Verkehr youtube.com/watch?v=6rfxIL…

I'm using an RSS reader to read blog posts and news articles. I only rarely read the actual RSS feed though but usually read the content on the actual website. I feel like reading RSS feeds misses the personality (style etc.) of a website, much like browser's reading modes.

Makes me think again about all that wasted CPU time compiling the same projects over and over again. Something like crowd-sourced compilation would be cool. You'd have an online repo storing compilation artifacts and showing how many people have verified it's correct.

Interesting blog post! As a proponent of decentralization and distributed systems (which btw doesn't require blockchain after all), I'm now wondering if all these systems will eventually turn towards more centralized platforms. Definitely something I'm going to think about more.

This is how computers should be. Freaking instant. It’s crazy to think we’ve settled for much busier and so much slower Win/MacOS withour really getting anything out of it youtube.com/watch?v=aGxt-t…

Reading danluu.com/file-consisten… and thinking that some Rust Language mindset inspired innovation in file systems could be a really cool thing. What if everything from SSD controllers to high-level file access APIs was redesigned with safety and efficiency as top priority?

I wonder how the web devs at reddit felt when they were tasked to implement the "this page looks better in the app" notification...

Kinda sad that most of the PRs I get on my GitHub repos are dependabot security updates for my Jekyll blog. I should probably switch to something else. Zola is looking good and being written in Rust Language, I don't expect similar issues there. Does anyone have experience with Zola?
