Founded in 1926, Fisk University’s theatre group, the Stagecrafters’ first performance was Sophocles’ Antigone. They have occupied the Little Theatre since 1935 and continue to provide opportunities for the intensive study of plays and their production. #blackhistorymonth

The Carl Van Vechten Gallery was founded in 1949 to serve as a platform for African American art and to foster dialogue on the role of art in society. It owes its name to Carl Van Vechten, who was known for his support of African American artists during the Harlem Renaissance.
