With Maryam Hosseini and Patrick Spicer, we study molecular and colloidal transport within the naturally-formed hierarchical microstructure of cellulose biofilm. pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102… ACS Macro Journals UNSW School of Chemical Engineering

So Firoozeh Babayekhorasani, Maryam Hosseini, and I just published a study of the structure of the bacterial cellulose pellicle produced by Acetobacter. This material is familiar to many as the SCOBY built by bacteria as a living space at the top of your kombucha: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

A very specific "meme" from UNSW School of Chemical Engineering Complex Fluids group as we prepare for iacis2022 (2022?) with Firoozeh Babayekhorasani:

New preprint with Maryam Hosseini and Firoozeh Babayekhorasani on "huge" #activematter nanocellulose capsules with MOF-catalase engines. Though big, these motors can squeeze through constrictions and carry liquid like a ship pushed by tugboats!

Now Firoozeh Babayekhorasani takes us through her work on the unique hierarchical structures bacteria form when they build their nanocellulose apartment buildings at IACIS 2022.

Great work from Patrick Spicer group led by to be soon Dr Maryam Hosseini. Glad to be part of this.

Today we are announcing our intention to remove Iran from the UN Commission on the Status of Women. Given Iran’s brutal crackdown on women and girls protesting peacefully for their rights, Iran is unfit to serve on this Commission. To the protestors: we see you and we hear you.

Imaging bacteria building cellulose prisons for themselves. This project just keeps getting cooler and cooler. Maryam Hosseini presenting her work with Patrick Spicer and Firoozeh Babayekhorasani .

Posters are up. Countdown to the biggest ever early career academic event has begun. Come on UNSW Engineering academics join us in this Faculty-wide celebration of young academics. kudos to UNSW Eng. ECAN to put this all together. So proud to be part of this dedicated executive bunch.

Great opportunity to present our collaborative work on continuous non-enzymatic template-directed RNA production at UNSW RNA Institute symposium.
