We launched FireFungi a month ago and it´s been non-stop work since then! Kick off meetings, survey trips to the study area and getting everything ready for next week sampling. We are expecting some torrential rains over the weekend... ⛈️⛈️.. FuegoLab will the tracks hold??

Field season is on!! Sampling soils and roots of Pinus sylvestris that burnt last August in Navalacruz with Ana Rincon (CSIC), Ignacio Garcia (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) and Cristina Aponte (INIA-CSIC)

Last week we finished sampling the burnt plots!! We started at 1800m, among snow but enjoyed a warmish and sunny afternoon. With Cristina Aponte , Patricia Plaza and Ignacio Garcia (INIA-CSIC , Universidad Politécnica de Madrid)

And just like that, we finished our field campaign! Special thanks to Ignacio Garcia, a last year forestry student (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid ) whose help was invaluable. Now off to the lab to see what's going on with those burnt 🔥🍄🍄🔥 Cristina Aponte INIA-CSIC
