Thirty years ago today, Officer Thomas Giunta was shot and killed as he was distributing parking permits for a community function. Officer Giunta was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War and had served with the Fall River Police Department for 21 years.

Please join us in congratulating Lieutenant Anthony Elumba on his retirement, following a 28 year career with the Fall River Police Department.

Today, we honor and remember those who lost their lives during the horrific events of 9/11. Lest we forget.

Yesterday, we held our 2nd Cops and Bobbers event in collaboration with the MA Division of Marine Fisheries Everyone in attendance had an amazing time. We are already looking forward to next years event.

On this day in 1918, Patrolman Jeremiah McDonald died as a result of complications of Spanish Influenza contracted while assigned to enforcing health laws in the city of Fall River. Patrolman McDonald had served with the Fall River Police Department for 15 years.
