This was my Saturday. Supporting these two at their grading. A new First Dan and a new Fifth Dan in Ju Jitsu.

Been to a funeral today of my best friend’s father who became a surrogate father in my teenage years. It was lovely but I sobbed throughout! I sang my heart out for him too though.

I like Christmas especially the religious services and family time BUT I find present giving very stressful. I want to make people happy but I never think I’ve done enough and it makes me highly anxious!

Hands up if you’re a teacher and the Christmas cold has hit. 🙋‍♀️

Enjoyed the Bath Rugby vs Northampton Saints 😇 today despite the final score. I was disappointed by the atmosphere around where we sat. The lack of respect for the visiting kicker and booing every Bath try was really not needed. I thought rugby was better than that.

Fab gig at Cambridge Junction tonight seeing the amazingly talented Martyn Joseph. Also very chuffed with the t shirt showing the first albums I bought on tape! (Showing my age!!)

What’s it like being a teacher? Lying in bed feeling like utter rubbish for the 2nd day and knowing you have to mark a set of books and plan the lessons for the week regardless of how awful you feel.

Glad I made the decision not to go in tomorrow. It’s 2am. I’ve not slept and I keep panicking that I am going to suffocate in my sleep cos my nose is so blacked and my throat feels thick and sore. I really hope this sorts itself quickly!

I am CofE but work in a Catholic school and the announcement of the Pope’s death has upset me this morning. My class had prayed daily for him whilst he was in hospital and I have learnt a lot about him this year and really respected him. RIP

Got on the subject of bedtimes with my class of 8 yr olds today. Was shocked that only 3/30 go to bed before 9pm, 3/4 of them watch tv or play on a tablet in bed and only 1/30 got a bedtime story read to them! Explained a lot!

Start of holiday teacher is so exhausted they still wake up at the same time every morning but end up having a 3 hour “nap” each afternoon.

I can’t decide if I’m a control freak or am unable to relax but after a week I’m now ready to do things. I can’t sit around each day with no plans. I need a focus for each day!
