Appreciate this thread World Health Organization (WHO) , but there is some misinformation - endometriosis doesn’t just affect women /girls of reproductive age. We believe Endo is present at birth, & can be present before puberty & after menopause It’s 1 in 10 ppl, & many Endo warriors are trans/GNC.

Loved seeing the misinfo this week on #ChicagoMed for endometriosis /s Endo is not “in the uterus”, >4% of cases Bc it’s not the endometrium. What’s NOT rare is #extrapelvic Endo At least you got the gaslighting correct - guess it wasn’t anxiety! Do better NBC Entertainment

We love how problematic doctors being called out is the issue, but not the doctor’s misdeeds. Keep doing the good work EndoGirlsBlog ; we stand with you

& patient advocates are forming in droves to assist in the underlying, bias and problematic behaviors of doctors that cause these “removed from reality Twitter post”

Incredible support for warriors in surgical menopause. Our founder wishes someone sent this to them when they had a hysterectomy/ovary removal. We need to include these types resources when pts have these surgeries. So many feel thrown to the wolves & silenced

“The pain may come back within a few years after surgery. If the pain is very severe, a hysterectomy may be an option” Hysterectomies are not Rxs for endo (but Adenomyosis). If you have excision surgery, U often don’t need repeat surgery. The info on this page needs updating NIH

Yikes, if men where getting hysterectomies would we be telling them they can’t have proper pain management after a removal of ORGANS? Have Y’all never worked directly w. Pts who had these surgeries? You need to speak to actual chronic pain pts in womens health communities.

Not only am I scared for my patients who require Adderall to treat their ADHD/be functional in their daily lives, but as a doctor with ADHD who takes Adderall, not having access to the medication that helps me be a functional physician and provide patient care is terrifying.

#endometriosisawareness we push pts to learn the basics thru self study because if they do not recognize the red flags very often they continue in one failed treatment after another, we take heat for pushing pts to learn rather than telling them, but its critical in this disease
