This includes up to £113 million for No One Left Behind, the Young Person’s Guarantee and the Parental Employability Support Fund and over £24 million for Fair Start Scotland to support disabled people, and those with health conditions or other barriers to work.

There were 45,030 people helped by Fair Start Scotland up to March 2022, with more than a third supported into work And No One Left Behind reached almost 17,000 people up to Dec 2021 - like Megan of Renfrewshire, who lives with her partner and 20-month-old son.

Employment Minister Richard Lochhead this week met with staff from StartScotland delivering Scottish Government's Fair Start Scotland service. He also spoke with people receiving the #FairStartScotland service about their experiences of looking to move into and sustain work.

Scotland’s Third Sector plays a crucial role tackling issues across communities. Scottish Government invests around £500 million each year into the Third Sector via a range of programmes supporting community empowerment, mental wellbeing, children and families, and health and social care.

Employment Minister Richard Lochhead visited Food Train – a #LivingWage employer – to hear how funding allowed the charity to take on and retain additional support staff to cope with an increase in demand for services during the pandemic.

This has helped the charity support older people with meal provision, befriending and home maintenance services. It includes vital work to tackle social isolation through meal sharing.
