First University Graduate! Today the family of Nyumbani Kwetu celebrated our first university graduate. Joseph completed his studies in Commerce & Finance in August followed by a student work placement at a microfinance company which lead to his first job!

#1 in Nairobi! Elimu's Digitech Team has done it again. Out of 69 participants at the national Kenya Innovation Week Hackathon, they took first place in the EdTech category! That's three big wins in the last 3 months! We're very proud of their efforts.

Based at Elimu Resource Centre, Bokayo Sharamo is a Comundo partner who has just taken up her post at Elimu. As an expert in navigating the new world of AI, she will be with us throughout 2025 helping to build specific training on AI into our projects.

We said farewell to Tanya Buelow, a Canadian volunteer who helped us reconnect with our sewing alumni, thanks to her and her company, The Cigna Group’s support, we met up with inspiring women like Janet & Patricia and received valuable resources for our Artisan Maker Space.

Janet Iha joined Elimu to learn sewing, received a sewing machine to start her journey, and has now been hired as a sewing instructor, proving that skills training opens doors to new opportunities.
