As far as I am concerned, when Sanjay Mehrotra speaks, people should listen. I just signed up for this: connect.informs.org/chicago/events…

I like Tanton's exploding dots idea. While the most common use is teaching youngsters addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, it actually works way beyond that, including polynomial division and arithmetic in arbitrary bases.

I'm looking forward to my first Gurobi Days Digital this week. Presentations of our technical staff are at the Gurobi Twitter page. I also highly recommend the Janos presentation I just retweeted; I saw a shorter version at INFORMS last fall and was impressed.

I've always found Erwin Kalvelagen's blog (Yet Another Math Programming Consultant) useful and informative. That happened again today as I stumbled upon this comprehensive discussion of various piecewise linear formulations: …athprogrammingconsultant.blogspot.com/2019/02/piecew… See parts 2 and 3 for more.

gurobi.com/event/tech-tal… has info on an upcoming Tech Talk on June 20. The first presentation was favorably received, so I hope you can make it to the second broadcast on the 20th if 4pm Eastern time in the US works.
