Water is good for all... In Forest School this week, the children have been intrigued to discover the use of some new resources. They operated the new water butt to fill their watering cans and watered the very thirsty plants in our new edible garden.

In Forest School, the children were in awe of the colours they could see within their environment. They observed many flowers and plants of all shapes, sizes and colours and counted the petals. Some children collected different coloured petals to create a rainbow design 🌈

In Forest School, the children found a tiny snail. They showed an interest in how to look after it and even made a small bath to place in the Bug Hotel. The children reflected and used their prior knowledge to communicate their explanations about looking after living things 🐌

KS1 & KS2 enjoyed taking part in a range of activities, including tug of war, speed jump, shot put, obstacle courses, relay races and parachute games. We were extremely grateful that there were lots of adults who were willing to join in, especially when it came to tug of war!

In Forest School, the children used sticks and string to create rafts for the mini-beasts in their Bug Hotel to travel on. They practised how to tie knots to make sure they had a firm structure before their mini-beasts set sail in the water tray.

Our Year 3 children became fully immersed in history as they took part in a Roman banquet, an educational experience based on cooking and nutrition. Their banquet included spelt bread, Pecorino Romano (Roman cheese) and Libum, a Roman sacrificial cake - all handmade by them 😋

In Forest School, the children experienced a team building game in which they had to listen very carefully to a friend who explained the way in which they needed to travel to get to the end of the course. They all exhibited togetherness, confidence, resilience and perseverance 👏

Reception took part in a visit to Dover Transport Museum, giving them an opportunity to enjoy a ‘first-hand’ experience of exploring various modes of transport from the past whilst discovering what life would have been like when these forms of transport were used🚃🚋
