WA & OR Residents! We are over ½ way thru public comment period for the i5 Bridge Replacement project. I’ve prepared a testimony guide! Anyone here can & should testify, even if you haven’t followed this megaproject like I have! Let’s get started 🧵:

WHAT IS IT? IBR is a +$8 Billion freeway expansion of i-5, marketed as earthquake-safe bridge replacement. The project bundles 1 (or 2) more lanes 4 miles north+south w/ the new bridges. MAX Light rail will extend across the river to Evergeen Blvd.

WHY SHOULD I CARE? (2/4) This is the most impact you as an individual will EVER have on climate change. I vote, but testimony can directly cancel bad things which funds good things. MAX only exists b/c Portland cancelled freeway expansions in the 70s!
