This is exactly why dual citizenship was prohibited by law in America until 1967.

Until 1967, dual citizenship was heavily restricted in the United States. Voting in a foreign election, serving in another nation’s military, or joining the intelligence services of a foreign country were all grounds for loss of citizenship. Not anymore. Seems like an issue.
