Effective leadership is borne of experience at the 'sharp end'. SAS doctors collectively have years of being the most senior clinicians immediately available at the most challenging times of day. #SASsix

SAS doctors (and dentists) generally have a less hierarchical relationship with other colleagues in their workplace which earns them genuine respect and followership. #SASsix

What does being listed on the Specialist Register demonstrate for a leadership position? Some of the most talented consultants are appalling leaders with poor personal skills but great at their clinical roles. Life experience and personality is key in leadership. #SASsix
