Patients aren’t asking for much. Sad to say if you look up you get asked for updates, chasing investigations and ‘how long is the wait’, and even worse; blankets, food, help going to the toilet, medications. You try and do what you can but you have to prioritise the sickest.

NHSE have mandated (finally!) that ALL work undertaken by PAs must be supervised by the GP What does “supervision” mean? If GP needs (& should) see every patient too…what is the role of a PA in GP? It’s a direct doubling of work & a waste of everyone’s time & money.

Asked to share anonymously. These types of incidents aren't rare. Yet drs are vulnerable & feel unable to speak up. Pressured & bullied. Emblematic of a crippling NHS a CT1 anaesthetist left to be the med reg at night unsupported. This should never happen. I'd be fuming.

Absolutely. This is a significant part of the problem. Another significant part of the problem is people advocating that less qualified and unregulated “associates” with less training, and both lower training and entry standards, are suitable alternatives to GPs. Who knew?! 🤷🏻‍♂️
