In 2021 governments across the country agreed to make changes to the #NationalConstructionCode so that new Australian homes were #accessible. We'll be watching the #BuildingMinisters Meeting intently to ensure every government implements the changes as agreed. Building Better Homes Campaign

2 years ago, Summer Foundation teamed up with Melbourne Disability Institute to create Building Better Homes Campaign and advocate for new homes to be built with improved #accessibility for all. On Friday, every state and territory (bar #NSW and #WA) decided to adopt such standards. A great win! 👏
Thank you Minister Rebecca Vassarotti MLA for Kurrajong for agreeing to the National Construction Code, ensuring older #ACT residents have greater access to appropriate housing support, and the option to remain in their own home, rather than enter aged care.
