In 1976, we followed a day in the life of Hughie, John, Tommy, Charlie, Frankie and Jimmy - an "elite refuse disposal squad" who worked for the Belfast City Council Cleansing Section. They'd rather you just called them binmen.

The most 90s thing you'll see all day. Actors from Corrie, The Bill and London Burning pose for a team photo. Des Barnes took an evening off chatting up the Rovers barmaids to go in nets.....

The enormous flag from the French ship Le Généreux, captured by Admiral Nelson in 1800, is one of the oldest surviving examples of the Tricolour. Humans for scale.

Shortly after entertainer Rod Hull passed away in 1999, his captive Emu escaped. This flightless, but very dangerous, bird attacked fourteen people between 2000 and 2003. There have been no verified sightings since this photograph was taken in Hastings in 2008.
