Deze kist is het oudste archief van Stad Antwerpen. Gebouwd tussen 1301-1317 CE, met dikke planken van zilverspar. Dat weten we nu zeker dankzij #jaarringenonderzoek. De bodem is een stuk hergebruikt scheepshout (van een kogge?). Hoe kwamen we dat te weten? 👇 Onroerend Erfgoed 🌳💍

This chest is the oldest archive of the city of Stad Antwerpen. Thanks to #dendrochronology we know it was assembled between 1301-1317 CE, made with thick planks of Silver fir. The bottom plank is a repurposed ship timber (of a cog?). How do we know this?
