Next week, 2/22-2/26 is National FFA Week and we are so excited to celebrate! Each day of the week will be a dress-up day for extra credit! Below are the themes for each day.

Happy National FFA Week! Today is SAE and we will be recognizing four of our member’s SAE! An SAE is a supervised agricultural experience where FFA members preform practical agricultural activities outside of the classroom. Three posts will follow this recognizing our members!

First up we will look at Mary Beth Collette’s SAE. She says, “My SAE is dairy production and a large part of that is showing dairy cattle. I’ve grown up around cattle and it’s always been something I’ve enjoyed. FFA has really helped me pursue something I love.”

Next is Piper Rice and Bethany Stubblefield. They say, “Our SAE is the garden at the school. We're in charge of planting, harvesting, and general care/management of the garden.”

Last we will look at Nora Walters’s SAE. She describes her SAE as, “In my SAE, I manage and care for horses. I have owned horses which gave me the responsibility of feeding, grooming, and cleaning facilities. My SAE has taught me how to spend my time doing what I love.”

Day 2 of FFA week! Service is a huge part of being a leader. Selflessness is an important quality in leadership. Today, we wrote letters to the military expressing our gratitude. Thank you to everyone that participated, and of course, thank you to all those who serve our country!

Happy FFA week! Today is Alumni Recognition day! FFA opens the door to many paths in life, here are a few of our alumni that have went on to achieve great things in the game of life. There are 3 posts to follow!

First up is Taylor Campbell. Taylor Campbell served as the 2019-2020 Tennesse FFA State President and is currently majoring in plant science at the University of Tennessee.

Next is Aisling Hagan. Aisling Hagan served as our Chapter President from 2018 to 2019. She was the Niswonger scholar of her class and just recently received her American FFA Degree.

Lastly is everyone's favorite tough guy Daniel Williams. Daniel did a variety of contest and service projects in his time at David Crockett FFA and is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps! We're so proud of all our alumni and all they've accomplished!

Congratulations to Katie Campbell for placing 1st place at the District Employment Skills competition! We are so proud of you and good luck at the sub-regional level!

Happy National Agriculture Day! Thank you to the farmers and ranchers who work hard every day to provide for our country!!

Congrats to Jay Caldwell for placing 2nd in the Regional Extemporaneous LDE, and qualifing for the State competition in June! We are so proud of all of your hard work Jay!

Our annual chapter banquet is tomorrow! Join us for food and awards at Grace Meadows Farm on Monday, May 17th to celebrate our incredible and hardworking members. We will begin at 6:00. Members are asked to wear official dress. Masks are strongly encouraged.
