A-10 schedule pairings release day is a big deal in Dayton. Some fans sent me these photos from the UD Arena parking lot, where there's a tailgate celebration happening now in anticipation of the news coming this afternoon.

Fergus was outside barking as usual, but for once he found something interesting, an Eastern Box Turtle. It’s been touring south Bexley, according to the Bexley Buzz Facebook page.

Beautiful night for first pickup soccer game of the summer for players in the Bexley 30-over league. Playing on grass is so much better than turf.

I hid a dollar coin under a rock at this spot at the top of Haleakala volcano when I was in Maui in November because I knew my brother was visiting in June, but he couldn’t find it last week. So now I need Dayton Basketball to return to Maui soon. I have to go back to the island.

Obi Toppin on Game 6 of NBA Finals: Pacers have to be ‘fearless’ to keep season alive daytondailynews.com/sports/toppin-…

For a large percentage of people seeing this tweet (anyone born after the 1977 NBA Finals, like me), Obi is also the only former Flyer to score in the Finals in their lifetime.

Joey Gruden told me Red Scare - Dayton’s TBT Team “just needed a summer off to regroup and try to start getting some new blood for next year.” In this story, there's also a long letter from Jeremiah Bonsu and Gruden to everyone who helped the Red Scare the last six years. daytondailynews.com/sports/ud-alum…

The A-10 commissioner, Bernadette V. McGlade, may have to show up to hand out the Larry O'Brien Trophy Sunday with two A-10 alums playing so well for the Pacers. Here's the one and only photo of T.J. McConnell from his Duquesne days I could find in the Dayton Daily News.

Obi Toppin is averaging 12.8 points in the NBA Finals. I found only two players who played in the A-10 who averaged more in the Finals: Norm Nixon (Duquesne), 1980, Lakers, 15.5, and 1982, Lakers, 17.7; and Lamar Odom (Rhode Island), 2009, Lakers, 13.4.
