USS vs TPS pension comparison for a pre-92 and a post-92 university. How do you define prestige? Many young academics might choose a more comfortable future when applying for jobs, especially when the rankings don't support this so called "prestige". Or just go to industry.

We received large pension cuts because of "significant deficits" in the pension scheme, and now that they show a SURPLUS the CEO of the scheme states "may be able to consider some element of reduction to contributions"? reduction in contributions=effectively cutting pay package.
