"“The new car market is no longer a market, unfortunately. It’s a state-imposed supply chain.” So says the head of one of Britain's biggest car dealerships. The net zero ideology means that car manufacturers are selling to satisfy, not the consumer, but the government - always

You don't have to be a fan of *everything* Elon Musk does and says to find this very unsettling from Robert Reich in the The Guardian: "Musk’s free-speech rights under the first amendment don’t take precedence over the public interest." Who defines the public interest? Is that

As I said last year 👇 telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/09/0… ... the Proms aren't safe in the BBC's hands. They are just looking for an excuse to do away with the Last Night. That's why the argument has to be had every year.

Not long until the Bank of England auctions its first tranche of bonds to finance The Oasis Tickets Wealth Fund, "ensuring that key workers can afford tickets definitely, not maybe"

Just the Met encouraging people to report incidents that aren't crimes, and in which they aren't involved, anonymously to the police. Entirely normal in a free society obviously.

For "flexibility" read switching off your smart appliances such as heating, batteries, EV chargers, fridges and washing machines when demand > supply. As mandated in the Energy Act 2023. You're going to have to be flexible, not the grid.

Labour's plan to quadruple offshore wind by 2030 is off to a shaky start. It means an extra 40 GW or so. The latest auction contracted 3.76 GW, and the commissioning dates are generally 2028/9 (exc. the "reduction" cons). They've got one or two years to contract the rest. 🥴😂🤣

An officer from City of London Police on Good Morning Britain says that people need to 'help them' with tackling phone theft by not taking calls in the street, perhaps by stepping into a doorway. There's been a total loss of control when people are being briefed to not use their phones freely in public.

The House of Lords debated the covid Inquiry yesterday. "I am not particularly impressed by what I have seen of the workings of the inquiry so far ... Its conduct so far seems to have lacked something, both in seriousness and in real intellectual curiosity about the pandemic."

Trying not to get wound up by yesterday's House of Lords debate on the Covid Inquiry's first report: the peers' one sided references to the 'Covid bereaved' whilst largely failing to acknowledge those harmed and killed by lockdowns and vaccines; the slavish deference to the

‼️An important and admirably counter-narrative contribution from David Frost in yesterday’s Lords debate on the Covid Inquiry’s first report. Extended clip here. "I am not particularly impressed by what I have seen of the workings of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry so far..." 1/2
