Who gets access to you and your emotions? How do you decide what boundaries some can cross and other can’t? How do you find those boundaries?

I know I’m an emotional person. Compartmentalization is difficult for me. I’m working on it. But sometimes I don’t realize how emotionally involved I’ve become towards someone else until it’s an issue. So how do you set boundaries early on in a healthy way?

And not just in a romantic setting. I’m talking more so in a professional way or in friendships.
