Welcome to the heart of the winter fatbiking season at the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Trails! The recent cold temps and a reprieve from massive snowfalls lately means the base is packed and riding great.

Grab your Fatbike (or come rent one from Red Raven or Cykel!) and get to Cuyuna today! Mother Nature has a beautiful weekend with perfect temps in store! As always- be mindful of temps if it should get above freezing. Trails could soften for a few peak hours if it’s sunny.

One more big request...if you need to push your bike up a hill or two- please walk to the side, off of the trail, to avoid chewing up the groomed trail surface. Thanks and happy riding!!

Please avoid the trails today-conditions are EXTREMELY SOFT! Groomers are heading out to see what they can repair after the warm temps and rain yesterday. We will post an update as soon as conditions change significantly and trails are ready to ride again.

Base is frozen, but starting to get brittle. The temps will be below freezing this weekend so expecting decent riding until next warmup. Thanks to the trail groomers who worked their magic where they could today. Hoping for more snow next week to carry into March. Happy Riding!

So far reports in today that the trails are holding. Sagamore is riding great today. Minimal impact with the fresh snow on top of a great base. Parking lots and lake crossings are very slick. Updates will be posted as available during this upcoming winter weather event plays out

The Cuyuna region received 5-6 inches of fresh snow. Please stay off groomed trails this afternoon and evening as volunteer groomers will be grooming trails. We’ll post an update on which trails should be rideable for Friday.

For snowshoers- Please do not park in the Cruser’s Kettle parking lot between 8 am and 5 pm until it has been plowed. Our volunteers usually plow the parking lot within 24 hours of a snowfall between 8 am and 5 pm.

Ride on! Groomers are wrapping up Dragline South. Most snowmobile groomed trails got 2 passes (except Galloping Goose North - got one pass) Snow is pretty dry and doesn’t appear to be packing well but the good news is there isn’t a lot of fresh snow on top of the solid base.

**Sugar Snow Blanket** Switchback North, Hopper and Yawkey got a fresh groom yesterday to help reset the trails from some of the sugary drifts. Thank you awesome groomers!

❄️Cuyuna Drift❄️ The groomed trails experienced some heavy drifting earlier in the week. Yawkey Cuyuna Connector & Dragline have been re-groomed. As always avoid trails when above freezing or on sunny slopes to extend the Winter riding season as long as possible. Ride on!

IT’S A SPRING THING The trails are groomed, including GG south but GG North did not get groomed because we are down one snowmobile for grooming. Return on State Trail if you ride GG south .
