In honour of Sonic 2 coming out in cinemas I finally did something I’ve never actually done before and completed Sonic 2 on the Mega Drive. I’ve beaten it countless times on compilations/releases with save states but as a kid I just couldn’t do it. I’ve had the cart since 1993…

Spoiler free Sonic 2 review: a fun, well made kids film, with a fair few chuckles for adults too. Lots of Easter eggs and fan service for veterans of the series and most importantly my kids loved it. Don’t expect Citizen Kane but think back to the family movies of your youth. 👍

Terrible weather today so nothing for it but to take the kids to see Sonic 2 again and spoil them rotten with popcorn, chocolate and ice cream and a copy of Sonic Colors on the Switch to play at home! Best Dad ever, apparently😁

Sonic Colors Ultimate is probably some of the most fun I’ve had in a modern Sonic game whilst I have absolutely no idea that’s going on!

Finally got around to watching the Eternals in prep for Dr Strange 2 tomorrow. There was a film in there somewhere right? It was like the world’s prettiest Power Point presentation (not my phrase but apt!)

Well Dr Strange 2 was rather good! Much better than Eternals and a good example of how you can do quite a ‘gory’ film at a lower rating.

Dear autocorrect: for the love of all that is holy stop constantly changing ‘if’ to ‘of’ and ‘in’ to ‘on’ in my tweets!

So Top Gun Maverick (for me at least) joins that very select group of films where the sequel is at least as good, if not better in some ways, than the original (e.g Alien/Aliens, Terminator/ Terminator 2, A New Hope/ Empire Strikes Back). Highly recommended if you just want fun!
