Sad to see The Washington Post minimize the placement of regional DMV stories by merging Metro with other sections.

In a world where everything is a national story, a distinct and engaging local section is a real way to stand out. I can read 500 of the same stories on federal politics, but there’s only so many places to give me good local news.

Killing off the Metro section is horrible news for our local media and won’t do a thing to turn around circulation numbers. Post’s Metro reporters (entirely independent of editorial board) are some of the best. Another hit to local journalism and we all suffer from it.
