During the Closing Ceremony, the first woman Mayor of Paris will pass the Olympic flag to the first woman Mayor of Los Angeles. In that moment, I hope we’ll be showing girls across the world that they can run for gold, and they can also run for office. Tonight, we make history.

Mike Tomlin said, "It's not what you're capable of. It's what you're willing to do. I know plenty of people who are capable, but few who are willing." You have to show up and do the work. It means making excellence a daily habit. [THREAD] Jaycob Ammerman

There is no shortcut, no secret hack, no easy path. You get better by doing the work, by showing up consistently, by committing to the process. Every single day. 🪵🪓

It’s great for anyone to read, but I highly recommend young people and young athletes go read COACH PRIME book. As a coach who has taught many of the same concepts in the book to my players, Coach Prime speaks the truth and I have seen it change lives.

To become mentally tougher, you need to increase your tolerance for physical and mental discomfort. The main way to do this is by putting yourself in uncomfortable situations and pushing through them.

If you don’t practice right. You don’t play right. If you don’t prepare right. You don’t play right. If you don’t warm up right. You don’t play right. If you don’t play right. You can usually start with yourself. You can’t control how you play. You can control YOU !!

4 years ago I was coaching at my kids’ high school girls team we mentioned WNBA and college players and got blank stares. Tonight we’re hosting the team at our house and they’re talking about Paige Bueckers and Kate Martin. So glad they have role models to look up to.
