A must read by Coach Reed Maltbie. I never considered the impact that one word could have. This book explain which words enhance player performance and which words we need to stay away from. I'll never use the word "don't" again. Especially when playing golf.
Great book by George T. Mumford! Mumford uses sport as a backdrop to explain the importance of meditation and how to apply it. For me, the connection to sport made it easier for me to understand and more enjoyable.
Every point *does* count at the European Team Championships! Seventh in the shot put, Jolien Boumkwo 🇧🇪 steps in for the 100m hurdles at the very last minute in #Silesia2023! 👏 #EG2023 (@TeamBelgium, The EOC: home of the European Games & EYOF)
For leaders, this one tells the importance of recognizing and controlling your own emotions and the emotions of others. The stories that give examples are captivating and make the information more tangible. Daniel Goleman
Loved this book by Darrin Donnelly. Teaching the benefits of positive thinking and self talk, the book is a narrative set in the baseball minor leagues. This was a nice break from the expository text I have been reading. Great message and great story!
I have read and loved the Culture Code by DanielCoyle. This one was recommended by a student. It is concise and offers advice on how to create a strong culture. Also include pages for reflection.
This book Dr. Gary Chapman was recommended by a coach. I wish I read it at the beginning of my career. It changed the way I interact with my players, students, and family. My 17y/o saw the book and shared her love language which is the same as I. It brought us closer together.
A friend recommended this one to me after he saw Paul McVeigh in Vegas. Great insight into the life of a professional athlete and lessons on how navigate your own experience.
Excellent book and a must read for all youth coaches. Linda Flanagan goes over the evolution of community athletics to travel obsession and it's effects on players and parents.
