Research estimates that 18 million women in the US have a record of some kind. That means millions of women face barriers to employment, safe housing, & education opportunities. That's why we're working to advance #CleanSlate automatic record clearance policies.

Even with 30+ years of corporate practice, Latecia Hill struggled to find employment after release. This is life with a #record, where odds of getting a job interview or offer decrease by 50%. But Hill is changing that narrative by empowering women through reentry efforts.

This weekend, #CleanSlate was a conversation topic at “The State of Public Safety Through Healing and Equity” and “Reclaiming our Voices, Building Better Communities.” Record sealing has been shown to improve public safety and build a more equitable community.

After her release, Mandi Zapata struggled to find a job to support her family. “I understand that I deserve consequences..but I don’t understand how they expect me to take care of my kids..or responsibilities.” A #record reduces the likelihood of securing work by 50%.
