Hi, I’m Gay Beth, 2nd Grade teacher in Lee’s Summit, MO. My hubby made me smile when he came home and asked me how my day was. #MoTeacherChat

A1:Yes, our parents are involved and supportive. I find that if one communicates well, parents are much more responsive. We have many means to keep them informed via Schoology groups, Newsletters, Social media. #MoTeacherChat

A2: There are so many! One that is altered this year is our yearly talent show. We have a full house for our 4-6 performers. This year, it will be a virtual talent show open to the whole school. #MoTeacherChat

A3: it all depends on the parents. Some will remain involved but usually in one particular activity. Others just get busy and don’t or can’t make the commitment. #MoTeacherChat

Bonus: Communication with parents is imperative to maintain involvement. Anticipating problems and being proactive are helpful. Involving parents in planning and feedback-going the extra mile, so to speak, pays great dividends.#MoTeacherChat
