#MysteryMonday What a great hat! Where might I wear it?

It’s #WorldHumanitarianDay This day is for honouring those who help others and stand with the millions of people whose lives hang in the balance. The humanitarian system is stretched to its limits - underfunded, overwhelmed, and under attack.

Humanitarian workers are the ones who work to keep people alive, with personal risk to themselves. But now they are becoming targets too. Last year saw 380 humanitarian workers killed. More have been injured, kidnapped, or detained, and this year could be worse.

Even when the attacks violate international law, the world looks away. The laws meant to protect these workers are ignored. This cannot continue. Needs are rising, funding is falling, and attacks on aid workers are breaking records.

This year the theme is #ActforHumanity, with more urgency, there is a demand for protection, accountability, and action. Those in power need to protect humanitarian workers and the civilians they serve; uphold international humanitarian law; and fund lifelines.
