World Krill Day is meant for us to value the importance of krills as the basis of the entire Antarctic marine ecosystem. After our #AntarcticClimateExpedition, we are committed to advocating for the ban of krill-based products. #WorldKrillDay

Footages of Hong Kong being severely flooded went viral on media. It is a clear signal of extreme weather events becoming more intensive and frequent under the climate crisis. How HK can best build urban climate resilience? sc.mp/r8vt?utm_sourc… @scmpnews #climateresilience

How do we know humans are responsible for #climatechange? IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report shows that the dominant role of humans in driving recent climate change is clear. This is based on a synthesis of information from multiple lines of evidence. ➡️ bit.ly/AR6WGI3

BREAKING - #COP28 Global Stocktake draft released. Some progress made from the last text (eg from Parties "could" act, to "calls on" action. But it is not ambitious for 1.5 target. A phase out of fossil fuel is needed, not only phase out of subsidies & phase down of unabated coal

As ever with COPs, the outcome is often about incremental forward moves. Some of this new wording around fossil fuels was unthinkable, even a year ago. But the language is exceptionally loose and open to all kinds of (mis)interpretation. Nonetheless, it is a move forwards

#COP28 concluded with a death knell for the fossil fuel industry, as an unprecedented call was made to "#transition away from fossil fuels." The Loss & Damage fund is operationalized, yet the committed funding of US$700m is far from enough. Progress is made, but we must #persist

Oxford-led study identifies ways to accelerate China’s delivery of their Carbon Neutrality pledges. Implementation would deliver significant dividend in global efforts to tackle carbon emissions, and provide a template for other major cities. ox.ac.uk/news/2024-04-0…
