I doubt if there will be any commentary on Biden's departure more profound and humane than this one in The New Yorker. (you might have to click twice) newyorker.com/news/daily-com…

Belief isn’t a feeling inside of us, but a reality outside of us into which we enter, and when we find our faith faltering, sometimes all we can do is fall on the faith of the saints.

In light of a growing sense of local protest towards newcomers to our nations, I have tried to put together some considered reflections, particularly in response to the desire to preserve Christian heritage. Short summary: this is not the gospel. rickhill.wordpress.com/2024/08/01/pre…

Martin Sheen concluding 6th & I West Wing event with a sort of Bartlet pastiche of Sorkin speeches—and then he closes the book and *becomes* Jed Bartlet, speaking from the heart. It’s pretty cool.
