Congrats to MSc Tamina Kirsch on her paper in the IRIS-2024 special issue of Molecules MDPI. Tamina made new pincer ligands that didn't work for us, but might be useful to you! >NCN pocket >L2X, LX2, or X3 > very tunable! > benzyl sites protected mdpi.com/1420-3049/30/6…

A timely highlight of an exciting research area by folks leading the charge - congrats Dobrovetsky Group ! Advancing metallomimetic catalysis through structural constraints of cationic PIII species - now published in Chemical Communications pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Happy to share my first work in #Bismuth chemistry from LichtenbergLab Philipps-Universität Many thanks to all the co-authors Ahmed Fetoh The Careful Combination of Bismuth Compounds and CAAC: Formal Halonium and Nitrenium Transfer via Radical Pathways Chemistry …mistry-europe.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.100…

Pleased to see NSERC / CRSNG PDF Michael's (Michael Land) work typeset and pick up some heat during the process. It's out Open Access in Angewandte Chemie and, by reviewer recommendation, also as a 🔥Hot Article🔥! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…

***For candidates with a background in organometallic chemistry***, there is a postdoctoral position in bioorganometallic chemistry currently available in my lab Institut national de la recherche scientifique. Interested candidates may submit their application by email at [email protected].

Congrats to Tamina Kirsch for defending her MSc in our group! Over 3 papers + a book chapter she taught us a lot about pincer ligand design for main group chem. Next stop: more main group magic with Alessandro Bismuto at Bonn! Thanks to NSERC / CRSNG + MITACS for funding!

The undergraduate project of Dept. of Chemistry PhD student Katia McCallum, with Braulio Puerta Lombardi, Alex, and Devon Louwe is now out in New Journal of Chemistry. UCalgary Science pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Check out Tim Wellnitz´s recent work in cooperation with HeringJunghansLab on the reactivity of Pnictaalumenes towards 1,3-Dipole Molecules, now published in Angewandte Chemie! - The result of persistence and many late-night shifts! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…

Pleased to share our chapter in Springer Nature book "Structure & Bonding" on "Geometrically Constrained Bismuth Compounds". This was co-written with recent MSc grad Tamina Kirsch. Many thanks to reviewers + ed. LichtenbergLab for valuable feedback! link.springer.com/chapter/10.100…

Group hockey night! Ended in crushing defeat for Halifax Mooseheads but solid crowd and atmosphere as usual at Scotiabank Centre. And PhD student Anjali's first hockey game!

📢The Chitnis group is moving!!! After 7 wonderful years on the east coast in Dal Chem, I'm thrilled to join Chemistry@UVic (UVic) on the west coast in July 2025. My Dal fam gave me the best start I could have imagined, and I'm proud to carry their torch on this new adventure!

Congrats to Chitnis/Macdonald group PDF Michael Land on securing a faculty position Mount Saint Vincent University! I know he'll be an amazing mentor + researcher! Here's his recent Angewandte Chemie HOT paper: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.10… (photo is the moment he accepted the offer😄)

Congrats to PhD student Pinelopi Tsami on winning the Best Oral Presentation in Materials Chemistry prize at ChemCon2025 University of PEI. Pinelopi joined us this year following an MSc in Greece. She is developing new PN cage based carboxylic acids as secondary bonding units in MOFs.

Congrats Seung Jun Hwang! A very nice planar bismuth triamide in this work, with catalytic potential!
