FWIW the Chicago city council can impose a surcharge on ride-share rides to fund CTA. They’ve done it before, they can do it again…this makes more sense than a charge on deliveries since Uber & Lyft actually take business away from the CTA.

CTA riders only: Would you be willing to pay 75 cents or $1 extra (or more?) on the fare per ride if it meant: a) Causing the CTA to cut less service and close less stations (or none) b) Not requiring extra taxes on all people in the city/state (or less than proposed)

The bill that went to senate proposed $50M increase which is under w0 cents. Considering the shortfall, that is unfortunately too low. CTA has rarely raised fares. The fare is now lower today than 10 or 15 years ago when factoring inflation in.
