After weeks of genealogical research, I tracked down the living descendants of Capitol Hill Baptist Church’s longest serving pastor: John Compton Ball (1903-1944). Today I visited with them, learned more about his life, and got to share what God has been doing at CHBC since! What an incredible day!

"Every Sunday morning funds all seats full at Metropolitan Baptist Church... the average attendance is around 1300. Dr. Ball stresses only the Gospel, believes his congregation has 'enough trouble without bringing politics and topics of the day into the pulpit.'" -The Washington Post
