Gabe Price, a senior XC runner for Paradise H.S. lost everything to the CA Camp Fire, his families house, all of their belongings, including his running shoes, gone. He was unable to make it to the sectional meet 2 days later, he was given an opportunity to run the course alone

the "they played soccer most of high school, and then switched to cross country and now they're one of the best runners in the state" is such a common story... almost too common... maybe i should have played soccer freshman year

when non runners ask "how far did you run?" or "how long was your run?" and the truth feels like you're flexing

the only wall we need is the one that doesn't let spectators walk across the course/track
