Daniel S Oliveira presents chimeraTE, a clever pipeline to identify TE-gene chimeric transcripts not relying on ref genome. Enables finding chimeric RNA involving polymorphic TE insertions. Neat tool and great talk! #DNASRC22

Camille Mayeux did a great talk at #CNET2022 regarding TE activity and control dynamics under viral infection in Drosophila. Her findings are pointing out that TE expression is different depending on Drosophila species and strain, even upon infection of the same virus 🦠
Miriam Merenciano showed us how longevity difference between males and females may be associated with up regulation of TEs between old males and females in Drosophila! 🧬 #CNET2022
