A reminder that the Incarnation was about God sending His Son into man’s big mess wearing a breakable, bruisable, killable body like ours to live in it without sin and to lay it down for those enslaved to sin. He still knows what to do with a mess. Don’t hide it. Make room in it.

Lord, so many of my problems stem from not remembering you. I forget your wisdom and so I worry. I forget your grace and so I get complacent. I forget your mercy and so I get resentful of others. Help me remember who you are every moment of the day. Amen.

Corporate worship is designed to focus your heart, clarify your values and mold your character as you are invited again and again to participate in gospel worship and listen to gospel instruction.

What I would like to say to all millennials and Gen Z: you can reject the politicized, tribal, institutionalized, cultural Christianity you may have grown up in without rejecting Christianity as such. In fact, the true gospel is the best means to redress such problems.

The secret to freedom from enslaving patterns of sin is worship. You need worship. You need great worship. You need weeping worship. You need glorious worship. You need to sense God’s greatness and to be moved by it — moved by who God is and what He has done for you.

If I am ever going to worship and serve God, I need to be rescued by grace from the worship and service of myself.

Grace means that every morning you awake, not just to a broken world, but to the motivation and encouragement of God’s great and precious promises.
