Kalshi may not consider itself a sports book, and liquidity is light in some markets, but it does have the best odds/prices for some markets.

MLB umpires know the end is coming for them calling balls and strikes. So does it seem like some of them might be acting out by making even more horrific calls?

It seems we have reached a point where many sports betting media “influencers” and “experts” are more focused on getting clicks than giving out info and winners. I would love to see their job performance graded on the ROI they provide bettors rather than the clicks they get.

Betting an over on any regular season NFL player prop seems like a rookie move. With injuries being what they are — random and often for weeks in duration, I would play only reg season player props under. Maybe I’m on an island with this. Fine by me.

Fyi, if you are betting on Kalshi, it is important to know that tie games (like Jax-NO yesterday) are not pushes on moneyline bets. In a bet of “Will team x win?”, in a tie game, the “No” is the winner for both sides.

I hope Bears fans are so excited that they bet their regular season win totals over. Go to the window! Bet with confidence! (I will wait for a better number on the under).

It’s that time of year when the texts and emails are full of betting-related sales pitches. Got one today from someone who said he has been a leader in the industry for 28 years. Never heard of him.

In Texas and California (and every state), it is legal to bet sports using Kalshi and Robinhood, etc. Law suits by states to ban them are essentially the states telling the Fed CFTC to stay out of their cash cow. Fed says nah we’re good.

Who predicted that sports betting “prediction markets” in all states would be legalized this year by the Fed govt? The Texas Rs in charge hate gambling but will they sue their beloved administration over this?

Concerts at Soldier Field every day Thurs through Monday 9/1 with rain Thurs. Are they going to lay down a new field for Bears opener on the 8th? Might be nothing or might be a mess.

Pitt and Duquesne sit 1-2 miles apart, but have not played each other in football since 1939. They play tomorrow. Duquesne was ranked in FCS last year so hopefully they can make it a game.

Warren and Government Mule are opening for TTB in Chicago on Sept. 9. Derek and Warren together always a thrill. Somebody in the crowd will be shouting “Bathroom Window”.

I keep a list of “don’t bet on” coaches. Too many bonehead decisions make them untrustworthy. I rarely remove them once on the list. I did not see the end of the SJSU game, but sounds like Ken Niumatolo, who is on the list, proved he deserves to stay on it.

What is going on in the Syracuse-Tennessee game in Atlanta? Do you recall a game with so many on-field injury delays?

This requires some good Chicago reporting follow-up. Who at NW made this decision to disrespect and fire up their opponents?
