Back up in Scotland today for another whisky tour (of sorts!) We’ve finished a 3-month sortation exercise & we're here to collect, analyse & present the results. The issue was bottle shape (neck shape) - which could prevent the cap from fitting after filling. (1/3)

We swapped a manual, half-hourly shadowgraph check with automated in-line inspection; a series of telecentric lights & cameras - checking 5 bottles per second. 3 million bottles have been checked and sorted into ‘good’ or ‘bad’ & roughly 60% have been saved from the bin. (2/3)

That’s nearly 2 million high-end bottles that would have otherwise been smashed up, reformed and recycled needlessly - so money, time and energy saved too. A good day’s work for our Inspection as a Service ✅ (3/3)
