We are very excited to announce that we will be launching our Low Althitude Demonstrator rocket (LAD) this summer in Black Rock Nevada! Over the past two year we have designed, built, and tested all components of LAD. More info coming soon. #PathToSpace

Huge thanks to McArthur High School for visiting and letting us talk about what we love. Had a great time meeting the students and inspiring the next generation of BURPG engineers!

Relativity goes to college -- we were with the BU Rocket Propulsion (Boston University Rocket Propulsion Group) a few weeks ago -- they totally blew us away. It was absolutely impressive to see what these students are doing.

Had a fantastic “hack”-a-thon today where our teams spent a marathon of a day collaborating on our two huge projects. Over thirty people came to make tons of progress! Some serious history in the making. Announcements coming very soon

BURPG conducted several tests of our Horizontal Test Stand’s oxidizer systems on Saturday, culminating in 2 cold flow tests consuming a combined 100 lbm of propellant. This provides invaluable data as we prepare for acceptance testing of our flight engines burpg.org

January 2023 Cold Flows: Over the last several weeks, BURPG has conducted a number of additional fuel and ox cold flow tests. The team has reviewed the data, closed out all open items, and intends to step into hot fire attempts in the near future. burpg.org

Yesterday afternoon, BURPG conducted a 1 second hotfire test—the first by the team in several years, and the first ever on the Horizontal Test Stand. Initial data review indicates that all performance targets were met, with 2,500 pounds of thrust. BURPG.org

Thank you to ELEGOO for providing BURPG with a Saturn 4 Ultra 3D Printer and Mercury X Bundle. This printer will be used for our Hybrid Intro Project which aims to teach all members of the BU community about the basics of rocketry.

Last Saturday, BURPG successfully completed a fully integrated vehicle hotfire of our new bipropellant liquid rocket, Icarus, lasting about five seconds. We intend to launch Icarus at the Friends of Amateur Rocketry site at the earliest possible opportunity.

On March 29th, BURPG successfully launched and recovered Icarus. Preliminary analysis shows it flew to approximately 13,000 feet. This is the first liquid bipropellant rocket BURPG has launched in its 22 year history. Massive congratulations to the team for a spectacular launch!
