If I never got into astronomical instrumentation, I may have lived a life of never actually seeing a deformable mirror (DM) in action. Now that I work on one, here's a video of a wibbly-wobbly DM... an engineering marvel behind many a crispy image of distant bodies.

Exactly a year ago today I started at Goddard. It has been an incredible year, and I'm so honored that I get to work with such an amazing group of people on really interesting and challenging problems. I am so excited for what the future holds!

Got to go “home” to W. M. Keck Observatory this week after 9 years to visit friends and discuss possible future collaborations. Wandering those halls again and seeing this incredible engineering marvel was amazing.
